Stage First -Sell Faster
All Realtors know that a properly staged home shows better, sells faster and for more money. So you might be tempted to have this idea as an option when the home stays on the market for longer than average for the neighbourhood.
According to RESA, the Real Estate Staging Association, homes that were staged prior to going to market sold on average 23 days. Homes that were staged after going to market sold an average of 41 days after they were staged. Yes, that’s after the listing has been on the market for 30, 60, 90 days or more.
If you keep staging as a last resort, rather than a first choice, you run the risk of losing the listing when your seller’s agreement expires. Or you could force your sellers to sell a vacant home, which will end up costing them more in time or money, or both.
